THE HEART OF MEDITATION
An Introduction to Meditation from the Discovering Natural Mind Series
Through meditation we can discover greater peace of mind, diffuse suffering and frustration, and uncover our compassionate nature. This course offers a taste of the practice of meditation and shows how the ancient wisdom of Tibet can help each one of us in every aspect of our lives. Based on the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and other teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, participants will receive instructions on how to meditate as well as teachings on the benefits of meditation. This course combines videotape selections of teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, with instruction, guided meditation, and group discussion.

COMPASSION, THE INFINITE TREASURE
An Introduction to Compassion Practice from the Discovering Natural Mind Series
Through occupying our minds with love and compassion we experience the joy and happiness that free us from the prison of our own suffering and negativity. Because we often find it difficult to love ourselves, we first need to develop self esteem and a healthy love for ourselves. For this reason, we begin on the path of altruism with the practice of loving kindness. This course offers a taste of the practice of compassion and a glimpse into the profound compassion teachings from the ancient wisdom tradition of Buddhism. Based on the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and other teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, participants will learn about the logic and power of compassion as well as receive instruction on the practice of loving kindness. This course combines video selections of teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, with instruction, guided meditation, and group discussion.
THE WISDOM OF REFLECTION AND CONTEMPLATION
An Introduction to the Practice of Reflection from the
Discovering Natural Mind Series
As we look deeply into impermanence, we see that everything is interdependent and that our actions, words and thoughts have great power in determining our future. When you realize and accept the universality of impermanence, that everyone suffers at the hands of death, the very act of that acceptance brings with it the letting go. Realizing the truth of impermanence not only helps us to let of grasping, it leaves something even greater behind it – it removes the veils of ignorance. Permanence dissolves, and in the truth of impermanence is revealed the limitless, skylike nature of mind.
This course offers a taste of the practice of reflection and contemplation from the ancient wisdom tradition of Buddhism. Based on the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and other teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, participants will learn of the power of relection, and how to apply it to our daily lives. This course combines video selections of teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, with instruction, guided meditation, and group discussion.

NATURAL GREAT PEACE
Our real problem is one of mental manipulation and fabrication. But if we keep our mind pure and allow it to rest quietly, in the natural state, what happens as we practice is quite extraordinary. As Buddha said, "With our thoughts we make the world."
This course explores meditation as a practice for inner peace, and the blessings revealed when we come in touch with the nature of our mind. The emphasis in this instruction is on naturalness, and on allowing our mind simply to be, unaltered and without changing anything at all. Based on the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and other teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, this course combines video selections of teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, with instruction, guided meditation, and group discussion.
4 sessions: 2 hours
Tranquility Meditation
Meditation defuses negativity, aggression, and turbulent emotions, bringing about peace of mind and naturally revealing one's good heart. These sessions of short meditation periods are not a course, but an opportunity for people at all levels of meditation experience to come together in practice. Everyone is welcome, including those new to the practice.
Weekly or bi-weekly sessions: 1.5 to 2 hours
Let's Study Together: Going Deeper
These study sessions allow all of us to follow the thread of Sogyal Rinpoche's recent teaching cycles and to deepen our understanding of how the teachings interrelate and evolve. Based on the Rigpalink series of audio and video highlights from Rinpoche's recent teachings, students at all levels will find these study sessions to be a source of inspiration. Everyone is welcome, including those new to the teachings.

Open House: Ancient Wisdom for the Modern World
Discover the relevance of the ancient wisdom of Tibet for the modern world. Come enjoy a discussion on this theme, a taste of meditation, and a powerful video teaching by Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.

Open House: The Benefits of Meditation
Scientific research has shown the many benefits of meditation, from reducing high blood pressure to relieving stress to bringing comfort to those with serious illnesses. Come enjoy a taste of meditation and an inspiring video teaching by Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.

Open House: The Power of Compassion
When we practice kindness, it is our own mind that becomes filled with love and compassion, and we receive that benefit. Come enjoy a discussion on this theme and a powerful video teaching by Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the classic bestseller, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.
