Overlooking a secluded valley on the remote L'Escandorgue
plateau in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern
France, Lerab Ling is Rigpa's main international center.
Founded in 1991, it offers a regular program of retreats
and weekend courses, centered around the three-month
summer retreats. Lerab Ling has been blessed by visits
by many eminent Tibetan masters, including His Holiness
the Dalai Lama, H.H. Sakya Trizin, Kyabjé Penor
Rinpoche, Kyabjé Trulshik Rinpoche and Kyabjé
Jikmey Phuntsok. A project is underway to build a
traditional Tibetan temple at Lerab Ling, which will
accommodate the Study College, a library and a collection
of sacred objects and works of art.

Set on the cliffs of the Beara peninsula in the west
of Ireland, looking out over the Atlantic ocean, Dzogchen
Beara is the setting for Rigpa's long-term or secluded
retreats, including closed one-year intensive retreats
that lead to the traditional three-year retreat. As
well as holding public courses and seminars, Dzogchen
Beara also serves as a center of activity for the
Spiritual Care education and training program.

Rigpa USA has launched a major effort to establish
a Center for Wisdom and Compassion in North America
to preserve and make available the wealth of teachings
from the Buddhist tradition of Tibet, as openly and
widely as possible, and in forms most attuned to the
lives and needs of modern men and women. The Center
for Wisdom and Compassion is envisioned as a retreat
facility in a beautiful natural setting, in a tranquil
and accessible location close to New York City. The
center's activities will enable the unique wisdom
culture of Tibet, all but destroyed in its native
land, to be transplanted and take root in North America.
