2002 SUMMER SCHOOL: THE PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT
|
|
| |
|
Taking time to use the second wisdom tool, the wisdom of contemplation
and reflection
|
|

|
This 8-week guided course will take us through a focused study
of Sogyal Rinpoche's commentary on a selection of His Holiness
the Dalai Lama's teachings in Lerab Ling in September 2000. The
underlying theme is 'finding a path to enlightenment for modern
women and men.'
These teachings focus on three main principles: the fundamental
view of interdependence and its implications in our day-to-day
lives; the importance and benefit of developing basic human values
of love, decency and good heart; how to give our lives meaning
and purpose. Reflecting on these principles in the mirror of our
life's experience will lead us to find their personal relevance
and practical application.
Time will be spent practicing together, sharing the teachings
on video, working in small groups to ascertain the main points,
and reviewing the teaching to clarify understanding. Participants
are encouraged to reflect from one class to the next on the aspect
of the teaching most pertinent to their life situations
Open to all levels of experience and designed as a self-facilitated
study group, participants are encouraged to play an active role
in its unfolding.
The requested fee is $12.50 per class, or $95 if paid at the
first session. Please contact your local
center for information about Summer School sessions in your
area.
